Best Closed Loop Resistance Bands: Your Ultimate Guide to Fitness

When it comes to versatile and effective fitness tools, the best closed loop resistance bands stand out as a must-have for anyone looking to enhance their workout routine. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned athlete, these bands offer a wide range of exercises that can target every muscle group in your body. In this comprehensive guide, we'll explore the benefits of closed loop resistance bands, how to choose the right ones, and how to incorporate them into your fitness regimen.

What Are Closed Loop Resistance Bands?

Closed loop resistance bands are circular bands made from durable, elastic materials that provide resistance when stretched. Unlike traditional resistance bands with handles, closed loop bands are seamless and continuous, making them ideal for a variety of exercises. They come in different levels of resistance, typically categorized by color, allowing users to choose the intensity that best suits their fitness level.

Benefits of Using Closed Loop Resistance Bands

One of the primary advantages of closed loop resistance bands is their versatility. They can be used for strength training, flexibility exercises, and even rehabilitation. Here are some key benefits:

  • Portability: Closed loop resistance bands are lightweight and easy to carry, making them perfect for home workouts, travel, or outdoor exercises.
  • Cost-Effective: Compared to other fitness equipment, these bands are relatively inexpensive, offering a budget-friendly way to stay fit.
  • Full-Body Workout: From squats and lunges to arm curls and shoulder presses, closed loop bands can target multiple muscle groups.
  • Joint-Friendly: The elastic nature of the bands reduces the impact on joints, making them suitable for individuals with joint issues or those recovering from injuries.
  • Adjustable Resistance: With various resistance levels, you can easily progress as your strength improves.

How to Choose the Best Closed Loop Resistance Bands

Selecting the right closed loop resistance bands depends on your fitness goals and current strength level. Here are some factors to consider:

  • Resistance Level: Beginners should start with lighter resistance bands and gradually move to heavier ones as they build strength.
  • Material Quality: Look for bands made from high-quality, durable materials that can withstand repeated use without losing elasticity.
  • Size: Ensure the band's length and width are suitable for the exercises you plan to perform.
  • Comfort: Some bands come with added features like padded surfaces for a more comfortable grip.
  • Set Options: Consider purchasing a set that includes multiple resistance levels to accommodate different exercises and progressions.

How to Use Closed Loop Resistance Bands Effectively

To get the most out of your closed loop resistance bands, it's essential to use them correctly. Here are some tips:

  • Warm-Up: Always start with a warm-up to prepare your muscles and prevent injuries.
  • Proper Form: Maintain proper form during exercises to ensure you're targeting the right muscles and avoiding strain.
  • Gradual Progression: Begin with lighter resistance and gradually increase as your strength improves.
  • Variety: Incorporate a variety of exercises to work different muscle groups and keep your workouts interesting.
  • Cool Down: Finish your workout with a cool-down and stretching routine to aid recovery.

Sample Workout Routine with Closed Loop Resistance Bands

Here's a sample workout routine that you can try using closed loop resistance bands:

  1. Squats: Place the band around your thighs and perform squats to target your glutes and legs.
  2. Lunges: Step into the band and hold it at shoulder height while performing lunges to work your lower body.
  3. Bicep Curls: Step on the band with both feet and curl your arms to target your biceps.
  4. Shoulder Press: Stand on the band and press your arms overhead to work your shoulders.
  5. Glute Bridges: Place the band around your thighs and perform glute bridges to strengthen your glutes and core.

Safety Tips for Using Closed Loop Resistance Bands

While closed loop resistance bands are generally safe to use, it's important to follow these safety tips to avoid injuries:

  • Inspect the Band: Before each use, check the band for any signs of wear or damage.
  • Proper Anchoring: Ensure the band is securely anchored during exercises to prevent it from slipping or snapping.
  • Controlled Movements: Perform exercises with controlled movements to avoid sudden jerks that could cause injury.
  • Listen to Your Body: If you experience any pain or discomfort, stop the exercise immediately.
  • Storage: Store the bands in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prolong their lifespan.

FitBeast Forearm Strengthener & Forearm Exerciser, Wrist Roller with Thicker Handle

Great addition to home gym

My husband and I built a home gym during covid and this is a great addition to our equipment. We already have good dumbbells, and this makes it very easy to get those forearms, wrists, and biceps.

Forearm Roller

This forearm roller is beefy! It's got large, comfortable handles, and a a heavy duty strap, caribiner, and extension strap. It's a decent weight on its own, which adds a bit to whatever you are rolling. It's designed well with the strap securely fastened to the roller and the extension strap available to thread through for odd sized weights. This makes it versatile and easy to use with dumbell, kettlebells, plates, or other items. I dare say you could use a cinder block if need be! It's marked with percentages which I guess aid in tell you how close to fully wound you are? I'm not sure this is strictly necessary as its easy to see, but it doesn't hurt to have. Overall I'm very impressed with the build quality and absolutely think it's worth the money. Recommended for sure!

Wrist roller with absolutely no complaints

This wrist roller is a game changer for arms day. And I don't think I've ever said this before but I can't think of anything I would change.

Pros: The handle grips a bigger around (thicker) than other versions I've seen. The texture on the grips gives your hands good traction, with or without gloves on. The extender strap is nice if you're going around something big, and if the extender makes the strap too long, you can just stand on a weight bench. The percentage marks on the strap was a surprise and made me chuckle, but I could see it being a legit need, like if you're counting reps and you can't quite get another full rep, you could record how close you got to completing that final rep. It comes with an instruction booklet that is well-written and has helpful images; it shows how to attach weights, how to use the extension, several exercise variations you can do and which muscles will be targeted. No sharp metal anywhere. Aluminum carabiner and D ring. Lightweight yet durable. It comes in a gift-able, attractive package.

Cons: None that I can think of. The only thing would be if any part of it breaks. It seems like solid construction so I don't think that's likely. But if it happens I'll come edit my review. I do wrist rollers almost every arm day, so this thing is about to get a lot of use.

Overall this is amazing and not just because it's replacing my homemade wooden dowel/parachute cord/climbing carabiner contraption that I've been using for years. Great value for the money imho. And a great gift idea.

Versatile

This is pretty handy for those forearm exercises you always neglected to do xD But honestly, this is versatile, and you can use this will all kinds of exercise equipment and even things around the house (backpack filled with bags of rice, water jugs, etc). COVID has made people look for exercise solutions at home, and this helps! there's a helpful instruction guide and an extra strap :)

Simple and Very Effective

I've never tried one of these before, but have been having problems with my hands giving out before my back muscles on pull ups, so I thought I'd give this a try. I'm so glad I did. First couple sets with light weight absolutely you're me out. It will be great to be able to isolate those muscles to get them up to speed.

This particular unit is strong and well made. It's a simple design with quality materials and good stitching, so it'll probably last a long time. Large grip on the bar is definitely the way to go.

Highly recommend.
