DAY 16

Learn Negative Training

Learn how to control the lowering phase and use negative training safely before increasing the load.

Follow today’s plan below and keep your work clean and controlled.

Learn the Technique

Negative training focuses on the lowering phase of each repetition.

Use both hands to help close the gripper if needed, then remove the assisting hand and slowly control the gripper as it opens.

Aim for a smooth, controlled release instead of letting the handles snap open.

Common Mistakes

1. Letting the gripper open too quickly.
2. Using a resistance that is too heavy to control.
3. Twisting the wrist during the lowering phase.
4. Continuing after control is lost.
5. Adding more resistance before the movement feels stable.

Today’s Plan

3 × 8 + Negatives

Rest Rule: Rest 60–90 seconds between sets.
Safety Note: Use a load you can lower slowly and under control. Stop if the resistance pulls your hand open suddenly or causes pain.
Done for today.
Complete today’s work with control, then continue when you’re ready.
