Tyler Twist Guide

The Tyler Twist is a step-by-step Flex Bar drill: load the twist with the assisting hand, then slowly unwind through the working wrist.

Tool: Flex Bar

Benefits:

- Daily: More controlled rotation and return under resistance
- Training: Practice slow eccentric control of the working-side wrist extensors
- Comfort: The assisting hand sets the twist so the working wrist can focus on a slow, controlled unwind

How to:

Set Up: Hold the lower end with the working hand and keep that wrist slightly extended. Grip the top with the assisting hand.
Do:

  1. Use the assisting hand to twist the top forward and load the bar
  2. keep the twist as you bring both hands in front
  3. slowly let the working wrist move toward neutral/flexion so the bar unwinds
  4. fully unload before resetting.

Equivalent logic:

Twist-bar specific; the key sequence is load first, then slow unwind.

Safety:

Learn the sequence with light resistance first; stop for sharp pain/numbness/tingling; do not let the bar snap back or force a painful end range.

Note: Get the hand positions and sequence right before adding resistance.
