Best Loop Style Resistance Bands for Every Fitness Enthusiast

When it comes to versatile and effective fitness tools, loop style resistance bands are a game-changer. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned athlete, these bands can elevate your workout routine, offering a wide range of exercises that target every muscle group. But with so many options available, how do you choose the best loop style resistance bands? Let's dive into everything you need to know.

What Are Loop Style Resistance Bands?

Loop style resistance bands are circular bands made from durable materials like latex or fabric. They come in various resistance levels, allowing users to customize their workouts based on their fitness goals. Unlike traditional resistance bands with handles, loop bands are seamless and provide a continuous loop, making them ideal for a variety of exercises.

Benefits of Using Loop Style Resistance Bands

Loop style resistance bands offer numerous advantages that make them a popular choice among fitness enthusiasts. Here are some of the key benefits:

  • Versatility: These bands can be used for strength training, stretching, mobility exercises, and even yoga.
  • Portability: Lightweight and compact, loop bands are easy to carry, making them perfect for home workouts or on-the-go fitness.
  • Affordability: Compared to other fitness equipment, loop bands are cost-effective while still delivering impressive results.
  • Adaptability: Suitable for all fitness levels, loop bands can be used to modify exercises to match your strength and flexibility.

Types of Loop Style Resistance Bands

Loop style resistance bands come in different materials and resistance levels. Understanding these variations can help you select the best bands for your needs.

Latex Loop Bands

Latex loop bands are the most common type, known for their elasticity and durability. They are ideal for strength training and provide a wide range of resistance levels. However, they may not be suitable for individuals with latex allergies.

Fabric Loop Bands

Fabric loop bands are made from soft, breathable materials that are gentle on the skin. They are less likely to roll or slip during workouts, making them a great choice for yoga or Pilates. These bands are also latex-free, making them a safer option for those with allergies.

Mini Loop Bands

Mini loop bands are smaller in size and are often used for lower body exercises like squats, lunges, and glute activation. They are available in various resistance levels, allowing you to gradually increase the intensity of your workouts.

How to Choose the Best Loop Style Resistance Bands

Selecting the right loop style resistance bands depends on your fitness goals, experience level, and personal preferences. Here are some factors to consider:

Resistance Level

Loop bands come in different resistance levels, typically categorized by color. Beginners should start with lighter resistance and gradually progress to heavier bands as their strength improves.

Material

Consider the material of the bands based on your workout needs and any allergies you may have. Latex bands are durable and stretchy, while fabric bands are softer and more stable.

Size

Ensure the bands fit comfortably around your body parts without being too tight or too loose. Mini loop bands are ideal for targeted exercises, while larger bands are better for full-body workouts.

Durability

Look for bands made from high-quality materials that can withstand repeated use without tearing or losing elasticity.

Exercises You Can Do with Loop Style Resistance Bands

Loop style resistance bands are incredibly versatile, allowing you to perform a wide range of exercises. Here are some popular options:

Upper Body Exercises

  • Bicep curls
  • Shoulder presses
  • Tricep extensions

Lower Body Exercises

  • Squats
  • Lunges
  • Glute bridges

Core Exercises

  • Plank with leg lifts
  • Russian twists
  • Mountain climbers

Stretching and Mobility

  • Hamstring stretches
  • Hip openers
  • Shoulder stretches

Tips for Using Loop Style Resistance Bands Safely

To get the most out of your loop style resistance bands and avoid injuries, follow these safety tips:

  • Always inspect the bands for any signs of wear or damage before use.
  • Start with lighter resistance and gradually increase as your strength improves.
  • Maintain proper form during exercises to prevent strain or injury.
  • Store the bands in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prolong their lifespan.

Why Loop Style Resistance Bands Are a Must-Have

Loop style resistance bands are an essential addition to any fitness routine. They are affordable, portable, and versatile, making them suitable for a wide range of exercises and fitness levels. Whether you're looking to build strength, improve flexibility, or enhance your mobility, these bands can help you achieve your goals.

FitBeast Forearm Strengthener & Forearm Exerciser, Wrist Roller with Thicker Handle

Great addition to home gym

My husband and I built a home gym during covid and this is a great addition to our equipment. We already have good dumbbells, and this makes it very easy to get those forearms, wrists, and biceps.

Forearm Roller

This forearm roller is beefy! It's got large, comfortable handles, and a a heavy duty strap, caribiner, and extension strap. It's a decent weight on its own, which adds a bit to whatever you are rolling. It's designed well with the strap securely fastened to the roller and the extension strap available to thread through for odd sized weights. This makes it versatile and easy to use with dumbell, kettlebells, plates, or other items. I dare say you could use a cinder block if need be! It's marked with percentages which I guess aid in tell you how close to fully wound you are? I'm not sure this is strictly necessary as its easy to see, but it doesn't hurt to have. Overall I'm very impressed with the build quality and absolutely think it's worth the money. Recommended for sure!

Wrist roller with absolutely no complaints

This wrist roller is a game changer for arms day. And I don't think I've ever said this before but I can't think of anything I would change.

Pros: The handle grips a bigger around (thicker) than other versions I've seen. The texture on the grips gives your hands good traction, with or without gloves on. The extender strap is nice if you're going around something big, and if the extender makes the strap too long, you can just stand on a weight bench. The percentage marks on the strap was a surprise and made me chuckle, but I could see it being a legit need, like if you're counting reps and you can't quite get another full rep, you could record how close you got to completing that final rep. It comes with an instruction booklet that is well-written and has helpful images; it shows how to attach weights, how to use the extension, several exercise variations you can do and which muscles will be targeted. No sharp metal anywhere. Aluminum carabiner and D ring. Lightweight yet durable. It comes in a gift-able, attractive package.

Cons: None that I can think of. The only thing would be if any part of it breaks. It seems like solid construction so I don't think that's likely. But if it happens I'll come edit my review. I do wrist rollers almost every arm day, so this thing is about to get a lot of use.

Overall this is amazing and not just because it's replacing my homemade wooden dowel/parachute cord/climbing carabiner contraption that I've been using for years. Great value for the money imho. And a great gift idea.

Versatile

This is pretty handy for those forearm exercises you always neglected to do xD But honestly, this is versatile, and you can use this will all kinds of exercise equipment and even things around the house (backpack filled with bags of rice, water jugs, etc). COVID has made people look for exercise solutions at home, and this helps! there's a helpful instruction guide and an extra strap :)

Simple and Very Effective

I've never tried one of these before, but have been having problems with my hands giving out before my back muscles on pull ups, so I thought I'd give this a try. I'm so glad I did. First couple sets with light weight absolutely you're me out. It will be great to be able to isolate those muscles to get them up to speed.

This particular unit is strong and well made. It's a simple design with quality materials and good stitching, so it'll probably last a long time. Large grip on the bar is definitely the way to go.

Highly recommend.
